Marrowbreach
AggressivelargeOverview
The Marrowbreach (*Mango marrowbreach*) is a dangerous selachian (sharklike) apex predator found in the Coral Gardens biome. With a massive 1,000 HP pool and a multi-tier attack system dealing between 2 and 40 damage per hit, the Marrowbreach is one of the most lethal creatures in Subnautica 2's current Early Access build.

Attacks & Abilities
Behavior & Details
Marrowbreach jaws are adapted specifically for shearing through tough, plasticized flesh. The cutting edges are reinforced with iron and salt tesserae — a crystalline armor that maintains sharpness through constant biological renewal. Bites deliver thousands of newtons of force in sixty milliseconds, combining crushing power with blade-like precision. Pre-attack behaviors include circling and test bumping, giving observant players a brief warning window before the full assault begins.
The Marrowbreach's attack system operates on a damage tier structure rather than a single fixed value. Recorded damage values range from 2 (glancing contact) through 8, 15, and 20 (escalating engagement) up to 40 damage on a full committed strike. This tiered system means the creature adjusts its aggression based on proximity and threat assessment — distant encounters may result in low-damage warning bites, while direct confrontation triggers maximum-force attacks that can strip hull integrity in seconds.
Tips & Strategy
At 1,000 HP and up to 40 damage per hit, the Marrowbreach cannot be reliably killed with early-game equipment. Treat every encounter as an evasion scenario — turn off engines to reduce noise detection and move away slowly.
Watch for pre-attack behaviors: circling and test bumping. If a Marrowbreach begins circling your position, you have 5–10 seconds to break line of sight or deploy a distraction before the full attack sequence begins.
The tiered damage system (2→8→15→20→40) means glancing encounters deal minimal damage while direct confrontation escalates rapidly. Never stay in close proximity — even low-damage bites indicate the creature is escalating toward maximum force.
Marrowbreaches detect prey through motion, electric fields, and sound before visual contact. Powering down vehicle systems and remaining motionless can sometimes prevent detection — their small eyes rely more on bite timing than target acquisition.
The Coral Gardens is the Marrowbreach's sole biome. Plan resource farming routes through this area with escape paths in mind — know the nearest cave or narrow gap where the Marrowbreach's large body cannot follow.
