Atacamite
MineRawOverview
Atacamite is a raw mineral in Subnautica 2, obtained by mining mineral deposits. Found in the Observatory Ruins biome. Atacamite deposits yield 5 guaranteed plus up to 2 bonus when harvested with the Sonic Resonator. Required in 4 crafting recipes: Echo Location, Axum Interface Chip DNL, Mangalloy Ingot, and Ultra High Capacity Air Tank. Its presence in multiple recipes makes it a recurring material demand throughout the early and mid game. In Subnautica 2's crafting hierarchy, raw materials occupy the foundational tier. Atacamite must be mined from environmental deposits before it can feed into downstream processing and fabrication. The gap between finding your first deposit and establishing a sustainable supply defines much of early-game pacing for resource-dependent players.

Tips & Strategy
Use the Sonic Resonator on Atacamite deposits to maximize yield per node — resonating produces more resources than breaking deposits by hand.
Concentrated in the Observatory Ruins — plan dedicated gathering runs to this biome when your supply runs low.
Required for crafting Echo Location, Axum Interface Chip DNL, Mangalloy Ingot — gather extra during exploration to avoid dedicated farming trips later.
Store Atacamite in a dedicated Wall Locker near your Fabricator — with 4 recipes requiring it, quick access prevents workflow interruption during extended crafting sessions.
Used across multiple crafting stations (Fabricator, Processor, Modification Station) — distribute your Atacamite supply between stations or keep it in a central storage area.
